The 2011 Lexus SL460 that I purchased used, came with only one remote transponder key. The dealership would charge $380 to create a new one. American Locksmiths offered to do the job for $200, guaranteed to work. To save me a longer trip to his store,the owner offered to meet me after hours at 9PM nearer to my home, and cut a new key. Then he quickly programed the remote transponder. After thorough testing, the owner found that one function would not work perfectly. He then proceeded to spend 3 hours in the rain reprogramming, over and over, several additional remotes, testing all the chip circuits, studying the onboard progrogramming in the Lexus etc In spite of his best efforts, a perfectly working remote was not possible. (handsfree unlocking still wouldn't work on the new unit) American Locksmiths was willing to call it a night and make no charge at all for three hours of work.
Instead, I proposed that I would accept the nearly perfect remote at a $50 dollar reduction in cost. My offer was happily accepted. He offered to do more research into the problem and correct the remaining problem if a solution was possible. This company is knowledgeable and honest and willing to go the extra mile to try to do a perfect job. I will use them again if the need arises.
I had visited the place to get a simple job of making a duplicate key done. The guy over the counter (with specs) was fiddling with some lock and did not even acknowledge our presence. We stood there for over 5 minutes but still got no response as if we were invisible. Most discourteous store I have seen so far in Waukesha.
Lost the only key I had for an old kawasaki motorcycle. Was going to cost me an arm and a leg to replace lock set/ignition. He was able to very quickly make me a new key from scratch for only 50 bucks! Do recommend this shop.
Tom of Tom's Locksmith, has done a wonderful job for me on a number of occasions. He is prompt, courteous, and does not take advantage of people. I am a realtor and have recommended Tom to many of my clients. I have not heard one complaint from any of them.
